Local Fianna Fáil Senator Erin McGreehan has welcomed a new €170 million package of Power Up grants.
The announcement was made today by Fianna Fáil Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital Transformation and Company Regulation, Dara Calleary.
Retail and Hospitality businesses who received the second ICOB payment can register for the €4,000 one-off Power Up grant.
Registrations are now open.
Welcoming the announcement Senator McGreehan said: “Fianna Fáil understands the difficulties businesses are facing with increased costs, particularly in the hospitality and retail sector.
“This funding comes off the back of the Increased Cost of Business grant that was paid out to the tune of €244 million to 75,000 SME’s, including 38,000 double payments to SMEs in retail and hospitality”
“Fianna Fáil wants to give these businesses a break and I am pleased now to see my party colleague and Minister of State Dara Calleary announce the opening of registrations today.
He encouraged businesses in Louth to register without any delay, so that they can avail of the grant.
“Local authorities will be emailing those businesses in these sectors who received a second payment under the Increased Cost of Business to inform them of their potential eligibility for the €4000 Power Up grant, alongside instructions of how to register,” she said.
The Louth Senator urged business owners to check their emails, particularly if they received a second ICOB payment.
“Registration is quick and easy once business owners have received their email. The closing date for registrations is November 8th, so that gives owners two weeks to register,” he said.
“I’d like to thank the Local Authorities work in administering this on behalf of the Department, and without their extremely hard work the delivery of these schemes would not be possible.”
