For the avoidance of doubt and in answer to queries received, I would to put on the record that I was a member of various Interparliamentary Friendship Groups, including Palestinian and Israeli groupings. It’s important I note that;
- I am no longer a member of the Ireland-Israel Parliamentary Friendship Group,
- Interparliamentary Friendship Groups exist to have frank discussions with and keep communication lines open with other Nations, not to support the other Parliament,
- I support the Occupied Territories Bill,
- Ireland’s position is clear and on the record. I absolutely support the efforts of an Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs – Micheál Martin TD, in relation to the on-going crisis.
