New 3D printed Social Housing Scheme in Louth meeting local housing demand

Senator Erin McGreehan has said that the first social housing scheme printed using 3D technology, unveiled in County Louth this week, is an example of how innovation and ambition can be used to meet housing demand.

She said: “Congratulations are in order to Louth County Council on the unveiling of the Grange Close scheme in Dundalk, which is the first social housing scheme printed using 3D technology.

“As evidenced by this scheme, Louth County Council are being innovative and ambitious by utilising modern ways of building to meet to the ongoing housing demand.

“I visited Harcourt Technologies, who have collaborated with the County Council and the Louth & Meath Education & Training Board on the scheme. I am delighted to see that such a collaboration focused on local innovation and local employment is being used for the betterment of our community.

“This scheme is a really positive move. I wish the project all the best and I look forward to seeing the completed homes.”
