Senator Erin McGreehan has welcomed the allocation of €141,264 to eight community centres in total in Louth for upgrade works.

McGreehan said that these upgrade works are vital because community centres are so important to wellbeing in our towns, villages and parishes.

She said: “These grants will make a big difference. They will go towards support local groups to improve kitchen and toilet facilities, replace old windows and doors, upgrade the heating system and improve disability access.

“Eight community centres in Louth are benefitting, with the total grant funding across all eight coming to €141,264.

“Our community centres provide the physical space for friends, neighbours and those who are socially isolated to come together.

“Fianna Fail will continue to give a helping hand to our local community groups to improve their own local community spaces.
