Senator Erin McGreehan has welcomed confirmation that planning has been approved for construction of a primary care centre at the former Superquinn in Carroll Village Shopping Centre, Dundalk.

The Louth Senator confirmed she has been engaging with her party colleague, Minister Donnelly, on the project. She has received assurance from the Minister that more information will soon be announced regarding progress made on the primary care centre.

She said: “I have met with Minister Donnelly to discuss the planning approval for the primary care centre in Dundalk.

“The Minister has indicated that there will be a pause for a period of 8 weeks as is required under planning regulations before any announcement can be made regarding the project.

“He has assured me that he is aiming to provide more information and shed further light on the progress of the centre by mid-October.

“This is a hugely significant issue for our community. When engaging with the Minister I informed him of its importance for Dundalk and indeed all of Louth and I hope that the project moves forward smoothly once the pause is complete”.
