President of DKIT Diarmuid O'Callaghan and Senator Erin McGreehan

Louth Senator Erin McGreehan has welcomed the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) confirming joint strategic engagement on future collaborations over the coming years between Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) and Maynooth University (MU).

The LoI signifies both institutions intent to enhance and expand higher education opportunities for students, staff and communities.

She said: “I very much welcome the signing of this Letter of Intent.

“I would like to congratulate DkIT President Dr Diarmuid O’Callaghan and all the work that was put into this over the last number of months.

“This strategic engagement between DkIT and MU is an exciting prospect and I look forward to seeing the results of the collaboration over the coming years.

“It is very exciting for all current and potential new students who would like to enrol in DkIT.

“The facilities and faculty of DkIT will, I’m sure, be a welcome boost to MU and its students going forward. This is a mutually beneficial development that will help both institutions.
