Fianna Fáil TD for Louth, Erin McGreehan, has been informed that the payments for Cooley Flood Damage Relief Measure will be paid to applicants tomorrow.
Deputy McGreehan worked alongside former Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue on this measure, and is pleased to see its delivery now with Minister Martin Heydon.
She said: “I am delighted to hear of 39 payments going out tomorrow on the Cooley Flood Damage Relief Measure. 12 more herds will receive money in a near future payment run.
“There are 51 successful herds in total with a combined allocation of just over €188,000.
“People of the Cooley Peninsula have gone through a terrible time due to the flooding, and this financial assistance will alleviate some of the pain they have endured.
“My main aim was to ensure that the farming families of North Louth and the Cooley Peninsula were prioritised, and I am delighted today to be informed that the payments will be released tomorrow.
McGreehan went on to thank the work of the former Minister for Agriculture and her party colleague Charlie McConalogue, and the continuity of that work by Minister Martin Heydon.
“I would like to thank my party colleague Charlie McConalogue for his hard work on this matter, and for Minister Heydon for continuing that work,” she concluded.
