€1 million awarded for Dundalk IT in performance funding – McGreehan

Fianna Fáil TD for Louth, Erin McGreehan has welcomed the allocation of €1 million for Dundalk IT under performance funding awards.

Yesterday, her party colleague and the Minister for Higher Education, James Lawless announced the award for five institutions throughout the country.

McGreehan says she hopes this funding will help them further enhance the college experience for all students and staff, whilst continuing to tackle national challenges and continue a long-standing positive impact on the local community.

“I am thrilled to have heard about the allocation of €1 million for Dundalk IT. Dundalk IT has been a great facility for students across the country and our local community here in Dundalk. This institution is held in high regard and has impacted the local community and economy so positively,” she said.

This funding has been awarded to Dundalk IT for recognition of their exemplary and significant contributions to the delivery of national priorities.

McGreehan said: “We face many challenges nationally and internationally. It is an ever-evolving landscape, and institutions such as Dundalk IT do excellent work to address these challenges through their hard work.

“We must continue to tackle the challenges society faces head on, and institutions like this are a key tool in our arsenal to do just that.

“I’d like to congratulate all involved in Dundalk IT on this award, it is justified through their endless hard work,” she concluded.
