Local Fianna Fáil TD for Louth, Erin McGreehan has welcomed €12,500 for community climate engagement in Louth.
Minister for Environment, Climate and Communications Darragh O’Brien, and Minister for Circular Economy Alan Dillon today announced the awarding of €500,000 worth of grants under the Climate Actions Work Engagement fund.
Deputy McGreehan said: “Local community groups right across the country have become a vital tool in our arsenal to combat climate change.
“These communities are vital to allow us to raise more awareness on climate change, and they are essential for engaging more people and new audiences.
In Deputy McGreehan’s constituency Louth has been awarded €12,500 under the funding announced today.
“I am delighted that the people involved in Development Perspectives (€5000), Dundalk Inclusive Garden (€5000), and Friends of the Earth Dundalk (€2,500) in my constituency have been awarded €12,500 in total under the Climate Actions Work Engagement fund.
“I want to commend all involved on their extremely hard work on this very important issue, one of the greatest challenges in a generation. The important work they do doesn’t go unnoticed,” she concluded.
