It was a pleasure to welcome Minister James Lawless TD back to County Louth for the launch of the Maynooth University – Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) Regional Graduate Academy yesterday.
As Chair of the Oireachtas Committee on Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, I was especially proud to attend this important milestone for the region.
The new Academy will deliver a structured PhD programme based at DkIT, with students jointly registered at both institutions and graduating with a Maynooth University degree.
This marks a significant step forward in the strategic partnership between DkIT and MU, following the Letter of Intent signed in June 2024. It reflects a shared commitment to academic excellence, research innovation, and regional development.
