Fianna Fáil TD for Louth has welcomed the announcement that three organisations in Louth are to receive a total of €9,750 in funding as part of the Small Scale Local Festivals and Summer Schools Scheme 2026.
The organisations in Louth to receive funding include:
- €5,000 for Carlingford Heritage CLG
- €2,250 for Friends of Ardee Bog

This forms part of a wider national funding allocation of €371,792.25 for 105 events to support Small Scale Local Festivals and Summer Schools taking place around Ireland in 2026.
The scheme is designed to assist local cultural events which may not be eligible under funding criteria for larger scale events such as those supported by Fáilte Ireland, the Arts Council and similar bodies. The closing date for applications was 1pm on the 2nd April 2026. Funding was allocated following a competitive applications process, with a maximum grant of €5,000 available.
Speaking on the announcement Deputy McGreehan said:
“These festivals are an important part of community life across Louth. They give people the opportunity to come together, celebrate our local heritage and enjoy events that showcase the best of what our communities have to offer.
“I also want to recognise the tremendous commitment of the volunteers and local committees who organise these festivals each year. Their hard work strengthens our communities, supports local traditions and ensures these events continue to thrive for future generations.”
