Last month, I had the privilege of officially launching the PEACEPLUS-funded SECBA Project at Dundalk Institute of Technology.
This ambitious initiative brings together Dundalk Institute of Technology, Southern Regional College, Monaghan Institute, Cavan Institute and Workplus to tackle regional skills challenges through strategic cross-border collaboration.
SECBA is building a responsive, inclusive, and innovative skills ecosystem – co-designed with employers to deliver practical training and certifications in high-demand sectors. If it can simplify engagement with the training system and offer clear, current information, it won’t just meet a need – it will exceed expectations.
As a Louth TD and Chair of the Oireachtas Committee on Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, I’m proud to support this investment in people, partnerships, and the future of our regional workforce.
