€50,000 for community vehicles in Carlingford, Louth will provide ‘vital services to those who need it most’ – Deputy Erin McGreehan

Funding comes as part of the national allocation of €1.7 million under the CLÁR Programme

Fianna Fáil TD Erin McGreehan has welcomed funding of €50,000 for Irish Red Cross in Carlingford, County Louth, saying this investment will provide vital services for local people and strengthen community supports.

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary, today announced €1.7 million in funding for 32 community vehicles nationwide under the CLÁR Programme.

Welcoming the announcement, Deputy McGreehan said the investment will make a significant difference for local communities.

“I am delighted to welcome funding of €50,000 under the CLÁR Programme for Irish Red Cross in Carlingford. This a vital investment in  medical services for the people of Carlingford and Louth.”

Deputy McGreehan commended Irish Red Cross for their work, “This group plays an exceptionally important role in our community. This funding will help them continue their vital work and ensure vulnerable people have the supports they need,” she said.

Deputy McGreehan emphasised the importance of this Clár funding announcement.

“Community vehicles are crucial for many people, providing greater mobility, independence, and access to essential services such as cancer treatment and day care. This investment is most welcome.

McGreehan concluded by saying: “Finally, I want to thank my colleague, Minister Dara Calleary, for securing this funding. It will have a hugely positive impact on communities across the country, delivering essential services where they are needed most.”
