Louth TD Erin McGreehan has received an update from the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine on the proposed date of payment of the Cooley flood damage relief measure.
Responding to a PQ from Deputy McGreehan, Minister Heydon said: “Inspections of areas affected are now complete and administrative checks are being finalised currently. My Department will complete these checks and funds will be released in the coming weeks.”
Deputy McGreehan said:
“The people of north Louth have endured a horrific time with this flooding, with many going days without rest to save their homes, businesses and belongings.
“The funds under the relief measure must be released as soon as possible and I welcome the update from the Minister that inspections of areas affected are now complete and he has now committed to the funds being released in the coming weeks.”
