Ministers Humphreys and Minister Joe O’Brien announce €550,000 in Funding for Library

Local Fianna Fáil Senator Erin McGreehan, has welcomed €11,939.62 in funding for Louth public libraries.

The funding, under the Dormant Accounts Action Plan, will assist public libraries in reaching out to people with disabilities and other marginalised groups.

Senator McGreehan said, “The projects that are being funded under this initiative will create a more welcoming, accessible and engaging library experience. 

“In Louth, €11,939.62 has been allocated for a range of furniture, including 20 armchairs, 2 ergonomic chairs and a height adjustable desk which will support people with physical disabilities and mobility needs. In addition, assistive technology will be provided including 20 C-Pen Readers and 15 magnifiers with LED lights to support the visually impaired.

“I want to take this opportunity to pay tribute and thank all our library staff, who play such an important role in cities, towns and villages right across the country.”
